Did he ever tell you about...

Colon & Raymond White 1920's

I was born in the transition years of the horse and buggy and the automobile so it don't take much imagination to relive the days of the horse and buggy and the times of dads youth.
Dad told a lot of boxing stories. Mostly at the store at Oconee. He boxed some in the army in 1918. There is no sign now that Oconee ever existed. I started school there in 1936 in a one room school. One teacher taught 6 grades. There was a grocery store and a blacksmith shop. Probably the same ones when dad was a teenager.
He told us about his horse getting hung in a cave while he was in France. I never heard Raymonds side of the story either. Dad and Raymond fought all of the time.
Did he ever tell you about the cat in his cap. And how the corner got chipped off of the house? The load of hay that turned over on Raymond. etc. How aunt Cora made them sleep at the barn in day time. She allowed no sleeping in the daytime.
There were a lot of stories. We never got tired of them. At least I didn't......unk
